We do not add any artificial fragrances, nor do we add ingredients to mask the natural smell of AlumierMD products. We pride ourselves on using pure, quality medical-grade ingredients in optimal concentrations in order to produce transformational results on the skin. The 'scent' in our products is that of the raw ingredients we've strategically chosen to formulate with.

Why does EverActive C&E® + Peptide serum sometimes leave a white residue?

Accepted Answer

The new formula uses natural emulsifiers. The white "foam" is due to the natural emulsifiers mixing with the vitamin C crystals. As indicated on the product insert, this will subside if the bottle is left for a few hours after mixing. It is suggested you enjoy the first use of the product one day after activating.

AlumierMD products were formulated with all ethnicities in mind and may safely and effectively be used on all skin types and tones for concerns including visible signs of ageing, sensitive skin, acne, redness and discolouration.

Yes. AlumierMD products are specifically created for different skin types and conditions, including sensitive and/or redness-prone skin. A skincare professional will recommend the products and regimen to best address each individual's concerns.

Does AlumierMD use dimethicone in its products?

Accepted Answer

Dimethicone is used in selected AlumierMD products as there is extensive scientific data to prove that it is safe and beneficial for topical application on the skin. Dimethicone can be used to help prevent transepidermal water loss, to calm irritation and discomfort, minimise redness and reinforce hydration in the skin's natural protective barrier. Due to the molecular weight of dimethicone, it does not have the ability to be systemically absorbed, and thus works superficially on the skin's surface. Dimethicone is not an occlusive agent — like many silicones, it is breathable and non-comedogenic because of its long bond lengths and wide bond angles.

Our formulations are updated periodically as part of our pledge to innovation and clean science. Efficacy and/or texture of the product will always remain consistent, if not further enhanced with the formulation change. Therefore, the ingredient lists on the website may differ from the product packaging, depending on the time and country of purchase. Please refer to the product packaging for accurate ingredient lists.

What can I expect right after a chemical peel?

The skin is initially tender and more photosensitive as the epidermis renews itself. After the peeling runs its course (usually three to five days after the treatment with more intensive peels), fresh, new skin emerges and ingredients in the home care products start to work more effectively.

AlumierMD products are cruelty-free, environmentally friendly and sustainably sourced; however, we cannot consider our products vegan due to the fact that some contain sea whip and honey. You can find full ingredient lists on the packaging of all our products, as well as on our website under 'Ingredients'.

Are the products gluten-free?

AlumierMD is not certified gluten-free, as some of our products contain wheat germ oil and derivatives of it.
However, it has been proven by several scientific studies that a gluten allergy will only present an issue with skincare if the patient puts the product in their mouth or on their inner lip tissue since it is an internal allergy.
To be certain, a patch test would be recommended.

Can I use AlumierMD products if I am pregnant or breastfeeding?

It is advised that patients consult their physicians regarding skincare product choices if pregnant or breastfeeding. Full ingredient lists can be found on the packaging of all our products, as well as on our website under 'Key Ingredients Glossary' section of this manual.

Do AlumierMD skincare products need to be applied in order?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Using products in the correct order is crucial because layering products allows the full benefit of more specialised ingredients. Apply thinner serums and gels first, followed by thicker and creamier formulations.
If the order is reversed, heavier formulas prevent absorption of the lighter ones. Sunscreen should always be your last step before makeup (if applicable).

Do AlumierMD products expire?

Accepted Answer

Most AlumierMD products are considered cosmetics in the territories in which they are distributed (Canada, the E.U., the U.K. and the U.S.). As per this classification, there is a Period After Opening (P.A.O.) date printed on each package in line with regulatory and manufacturing policies.
The P.A.O. features a symbol of a jar with an open lid, a capital 'M' and a number to reflect the number of months within which the products should be used for optimum efficacy. The P.A.O.s of AlumierMD products usually range from 9 to 12 months.
Our Over The Counter (O.T.C.) Drug products will feature expiration dates on the bottles and tubes, as well as the boxes, as per regulations of the territories distributed in.
